Moving Classes Between Memberships

If your school holds more than one membership, classes can be moved from one to the other. Nothing about the class itself changes.

What moves with the class

Everything that matters:

  • The students on the register, and their accounts
  • All quiz results, marks and progress
  • Tasks, including completed ones
  • The class join code

Pupils do not need to re-join, and will not notice the change.

What can change

The courses the class can use. Courses come from the membership a class belongs to, so a class moving into a different membership can only be assigned that membership's courses.

On an All Inclusive membership the class keeps the courses you have already given it, and you choose from the new membership's list from then on.

Before you move

The destination membership must have enough free seats for everyone in the class. The check counts distinct pupils across the whole membership, so anyone who is already in both does not need a second seat.

If there is not enough room the move is refused. Remove leavers, or add more seats, first.

How to do it

  1. Select the membership you want to move the class into, using the dropdown in the blue bar.
  2. Use the option to add existing classes to this membership.
  3. Choose the classes to bring across and confirm.

You can only move classes you lead yourself.

Splitting one membership into two

If you have bought a single large membership and want it run as two, for example one per site or per department, this is how it is done. We create the second membership with its share of the seats, you move the relevant classes across, and the seat counts on both are adjusted to match.

Get in touch rather than doing this yourself, so the seats end up in the right place and nobody loses access in between.

Screens in these guides use a demonstration account, so your own school name, courses and dates will be different.
