Listening to Lessons
You do not have to read every lesson. Most lessons can be read aloud to you, and the words light up on the screen as they are spoken so you can follow along.
How to start it
Open a lesson as normal and press play on the audio controls on the slide. The narration reads that slide, and the words being spoken are highlighted as it goes.
Move to the next slide and press play again when you are ready.
Going faster or slower
You can change the speed.
- Slower if it is going too quickly to follow
- Faster if you are revising something you already know
Tips
- Use headphones if you are in a classroom
- Follow the highlighted words with your eyes rather than only listening. You will remember more
- If you are stuck on a lesson, listening to it again is often quicker than reading it again
If you cannot hear anything
- Check your volume, and that headphones are plugged in properly
- Check the volume on the player itself, not just on your device
- Try a different browser if your school allows it
If it still will not play, tell your teacher.
Screens in these guides use a demonstration account, so your own name, courses and scores will be different.
